The well-known holiday resort offers numerous attractive leisure activities in both summer and winter. Many excellent hiking trails, e.g. the Rothaarsteig and the Winterberg Hochtour, wind their way through the magnificent landscape. At the bike park 'Sauerland', cyclists will find paths in all levels of difficulty. In the winter, the winter sports Arena Sauerland attracts tourists with its 80 ski slopes, toboggan runs and a roughly 170 km-long cross-country skiing trails. Excursions into the surrounding area are recommended as well: Winterberg, Willingen, the Aquamundo in Medebach, exhibition mine Ramsbeck, Fort Fun, wildlife park Willingen.
